RACHAEL BELLA
(Bio by Helen for The Aion)
Rachael Bella was born in a small town in South Dakota, on March 13, 1984. At the age of three, she moved to New York and that year, saw her first Broadway show, "CATS." She was transfixed by the music and by the sight of actors on the stage and from that day on, never had any doubt about what she wanted to do when she grew up

At seven, she enrolled in a class in musical theater and by the age of eight was preparing to audition for the part of Cosette in the Broadway production of "Les Miserables." While she was waiting for the role to open up, however, her agent sent her to try out for a part in a film, "Household Saints." To her amazement, she was cast as Young Teresa Santangelo playing opposite Traci Ullman and Vince D'Onofrio, A number of other movie roles followed.

In Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" with Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder, Rachael played Betty Parris, a girl who seems to be possessed by evil spirits and who prompts the town to begin a witch hunt. In the course of filming, it was her good fortune to become acquainted with the playwright, Arthur Miller, She also appeared in a lead role in "When Pigs Fly" with Alfred Molina, playing Ruthie, a hundred and eight year old ghost who, along with her ghost partner, teaches a deeply dispirited man that life has meaning. In "A little Princess," from Warner Brothers and directed by Alphonso Cuaron, Rachael played the part of Betsy. Most recently, she appears in "The Ring," directed by Gore Verbinski.

After moving to Los Angeles at the age if nine, Rachael also began doing substantial television work, including a mini-series with Eric Roberts and an episode of "ER" in which she played a child whose father was dying for lack of a heart transplant. "Into that Goodnight," the "ER" episode in which Rachael co-starred, won a Directors Guild Award for Best Night Time Dramatic Episode. A clip of her performance was included to represent "ER" at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards and Rachael won a Youth in Film Award for her performance.

She has also guest starred in television movies and in series such as "The Practice," "First Monday." "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and "Law and Order, SVU"

Rachael lives in West Los Angeles with her pet cats, all rescued and all to well-loved to give away.
